David Viscott in his book “Risking”, wrote, “If you cannot risk, you cannot grow. If you cannot grow, you cannot become your best. If you cannot become your best, you cannot be happy. If you cannot be happy, what else matters.”
The problem is that we forget this as we grow or as we reach a certain size.
We tend to become complacent. Or we shy away from risk. We stop taking the very thing that brought us to where we are. We become fearful and worried of the challenges that risk and growth create. So, we start hiding behind excuses such as I am busy, or I don’t have the time.
