James Clear (Author of Atomic Habits) wrote – “Most people optimize for the day ahead. A few optimize for 1-2 years ahead. Almost nobody optimizes for 3-4 years ahead (or longer).
The person who is willing to delay gratification longer than most reduces competition and gains a decisive advantage. Patience is Power.“
Reflect on these lines and the next 2 questions.
- Are you delaying gratification longer than most?
- Have you made Patience your Power yet?
Let’s move forward with some questions assuming you have done some reflection.
- Do you invest in your business (people, process, technology, client experience to name a few) from a long-term perspective?
- Do you invest in yourself?
If you can’t, are you collaborating with people with whom you can build the wealth management firm of the future. To take on the Goliaths. To take on the Predators and To Protect your Clients. To Protect yourself.
Remember, we tell investors to think long term. And rightly so. Because this is the source of the magic of compounding.
But what about You? Are you thinking long term?
And how are you tapping into this source of Magic and Power?
